| Michael: A chitalishte is a particular form of a public multi-purpose institution in Bulgaria that combines different functions of a community center, library, theater, and cinema hall or a place for education and different extra-curricular activities. The first such institutions were established in the 1850s when Bulgaria was still under Ottoman rule. |
