The most attractive formations are situated closer to the town of Belogradchik and its ancient fortress. There are many legends about the rocks. |

It depicts a 23 meter high figure of a horseman triumphing over a lion, and was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. It is located close to the town of Shumen in the northeastern part of Bulgaria. |
