Hi everyone! I'm Alisha. |
Welcome to Conversational Phrases! |
We've found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you'll use in real conversations. |
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask where something is located. After watching this video, you’ll be able to ask for directions. |
Now, let's take a look at some conversational phrases! |
Listen to the dialogue. |
Къде е супермаркетът? (Kade e supermarketat?) |
Ето там е. (Eto tam e.) |
Once more with the English translation. |
Къде е супермаркетът? (Kade e supermarketat?) |
“Where is the supermarket?” |
Ето там е. (Eto tam e.) |
“It's over there.” |
First of all you'll need to learn how to say "Where is [place]?" |
The pattern is: |
Къде е [place]? (Kade e [place]?) |
"Where is [place]?". |
For example: |
"Where is the supermarket?" |
Къде е супермаркетът?, Къде е супермаркетът? (Kade e supermarketat?, Kade e supermarketat?) |
Now, how do you answer this question? |
Ето там е. (Eto tam e.) |
"It's over there." |
Listen to it again: |
Ето там е., Ето там е. (Eto tam e., Eto tam e.) |
This Bulgarian sentence translates as "This there is." But it means "It's over there." |
