Cultural Insight
Becky: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Petar: One last tricky part. In spoken language, Bulgarian people use -йсе or -десе instead of the word for “ten,” десет, when they pronounce the numbers from 11 to 90. For example, единайсе or осемдесе which are 11 and 80. Or instead of Двадесет и шест лева и седемдесет стотинки, you can say Двайсе и шес лева и седемдесе стотинки. It is easier to pronounce them this way, but the formal and written language require the full form.

Outro

Becky: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Petar: До скоро!
